The Great Journey Saga Part II – PRAY

The Great Journey Saga Part II – PRAY

If you haven't seen the EAT part … Hurry up and go to Part I ! Today we are still going to follow Julia Roberts and as you have your stomach full we need to rest and relax for a few minutes. We may also find our inner peace , but it may not happen in one of this mesterious ashrams. As we watch the movie we can say that finding your inner eye or your inner peace sometimes happens through talks and observations rather than silence and meditations.

Today we won't focus on locations themselves but instead we will focus on what you can do in India, or in Ashram to be more precise.

Elizabeth does not only find friends, but also she can observe how love is different around the world, how to build happiness when you're hopeless and how to find a light when it's dark . It's more to find peace after hectic live in Rome, than to explore India like a typical tourist. As they say, travelling broadens your mind, and in this case it's true. She managed to get rid of many destroying thoughts and now she's ready to move on – to go to next place (we'll go with her!) to find love.

Maybe you'll try some meditation as well, before we proceed to our next blogpost and destination?

Love,

J.D.

The Great Journey Saga Part I – EAT

Today we'll follow this very pretty woman! While falling in love with someone, but definitely not Hugh Grant this time, she travels a lot. And travelling is what we like! Let's follow Julia Roberts today , and let's do more – let's eat with her in Italy!

Elizabeth Gilbert’s first Roman impressions – a view from Castel Sant’Angelo’s observation deck toward the Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, Rome, Italy

Elizabeth walking by a fountain – Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, Piazza Navona, Rome, Italy.

And now the best part, after sightseeing, after walking down streets of this lovely city and feeling super tired after all this hours of being a superb turist...Let's be a superb Italian and eat.

First dessert, because if you are in Italy simply- why not eat dessert before dinner?

Elizabeth eating an ice cream – Chiesa di Sant'Agnese in Agone, Piazza Navona, Rome, Italy.

And now let's eat dinner, but not a simple dinner, but a meal with a very handsome Italian Caffè della Pace, Via Della Pace 3-7, Rome, Italy.

But … Not to worry! If there is no Italian around, asking you for dinner and kissing your cheek goodbye, you can enjoy your meal sorrounded with picturesque views like Elisabeth did.
Osteria dell'Antiquario, Piazzetta Di San Simeone, Rome, Italy

And remember what She says in the movie : If you eat as much that you can't zip your jeans… You just need bigger pair .

See you next time, and prepare yourself , because next time we will ….
From Rome with love,
J.D.

Friday night and the lights are low, looking for a place to go ? Mamma Mia! come with me to Greece!

Today we’re not only going to follow our character’s steps, we are not only going to travel to Greece, we are also going to sing the best ABBA’s songs! As Mamma Mia is considered one of the best musicals of all times, we simply can’t rely only on locations! We have to feel this beat in our hearts, so no hesitation! Ladies and Gentelmen, GREECE!

If you’ve watched this movie, you probably remember the scene , in which Sam and Harry arrived in identical boats. This is where our trip begins. You can follow their steps, but I don’t recommand jumping into the boat after it has already set sail.

Old Port on the Island of Skiathos, Greece

I can’t imagine more beautiful place to get married than this island. If you fancy being sorrounded by nature, sun shining delicately while you’re saying ‘yes’ this place is a must. The moment when Sophie gets married is magical, and I don’t know if its due to the whole scenario or due to the unusual wedding procedures, but who cares? It is indeed very beautiful and romantic.

As this island is not a very popular one you can find many quiet places to rest, drink coktails or swim. But don’t forget about sunscreen, because during summer you can end up looking like a tomato rather than having golden brown suntan.

After all this sunbathing, swimming and resting the time has come to be a dancing queen! So free yourself, wear the most ridiculous clothes and join the party.

But if you will come to this island with friends, girlfriends to be precise, i think you don’t even need to go out. You can be a dancing queen inside as well!

Until next time!

Find a bond between this place and ...James Bond

Find a bond between this place and ...James Bond

Last Sunday I had great pleasure to watch the newest James Bond movie. And I wasn't sure if I should post this, but hey... so many facts about Spectre leaked out, that I don't feel guilty. And to be honest , today i want to tell you, or show you to be more precise , a place which was used in first 10 or 15 minutes... so what it is not a sin, is it? I've yet to see a better movie than this one. Everything in it was magnificent , including film locations. So today , we're going to celebrate death, we're going to dance while wearing skull-masks. Today we're going to Mexico!

In the newest James Bond movie the first couple of scenes happen during  El Día de Muertos which is the public holiday in Mexico established to remember about people's relatives who's passed away. You may now imagine mourning and crying but not this time, and not in Mexico . During this holiday people gather around Plaza de la Constitución to dance and cheer while wearing masks, costumes and holding giant skeletons.

Plaza de la Constitución, Mexico City

So this time will be different, as I won't follow all of the movie's locations. I just wanted to recommend the Day Of The Dead as it is such a different event from the one we have in Poland featuring sugar skulls, the favorite foods and beverages left as gifts at the graves of the departed.

This post was created to make you remember about this particular event, which is , in my opinion, a perfect way to spend a day in Mexico, if you happen to be there during this festivities .

Next time we are going to a perfect place to rest before this Christmas hectic period!
So stay tuned,

J.D.
